Captain's Statement in Post- Match Presentation Ceremony : India vs Pakistan
Rohit Sharma :-
(About Virat Kohli)- "I think the form is brilliant. Needed someone to bat long when the others were getting out. He batted with that tempo as well. Virat getting that score was crucial from the team's point of view"
"It's a high pressure game and you have to be at it every time. A game like that can take a lot out of you, we were calm even when there was a partnership between Rizwan and Nawaz. But it obviously went too long and they batted brilliantly".
"Games like this can bring the best out of them if they deliver. These games that can make them. They have done it in the past, there is a class in the other team as we,and we are not surprised we understand that the pitch gets slightly better in the second innings. It's good learning for us. I thought it was a good score in any pitch, any condition. When you get a 180 it's a good score."
Babar Azam: -
"Our efforts are to keep it simple. Ups and downs will keep happening. They got the edge the way they utilise the power play. But our bowlers made a comeback. Rizwan and Nawaz partnership was the turning point, I had a hunch Nawaz would be a key against leg spinners".
Mohammad Rizwan : -
"The whole world is watching this match. This game is as valuable as the final. The plan as always was to score against the new ball with one of us batting long (himself and Babar). I tried to stay till the end.we know our strength we have depth in our batting we have a power- hitters who are capable of hitting around 45 runs of the last four overs. So we didn't panic".
