IPL 2023 : IPL to return to home and away format in 2023
If you're waiting to see your favourite IPL teams or players to play in their home ground, then good news for all those cricket fans because IPL 2023 will return to having a home and away format where every IPL team will play there one home and one away match.
The IPL will return to its original pre-covid
19 home and away format for 2023. Board of Control for cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly has confirmed that the Indian Premier League will be back in India and 10 IPL teams play their home and away matches.

Earlier, IPL has been held at only few venues since the outbreak of covid-19 in 2020. In 2021 IPL was held across 4 venues in India : Ahmedabad,Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi but due to increase in cases of covid-19 the tournament has shifted to UAE whereas the 2022 season of Indian Premier League played in Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata and Ahmedabad.
The BCCI is also going to conduct a full-fledged domestic season after T20 World Cup 2022.
"The BCCI's home international season starts today and we have exciting cricket action coming our way. The Indian Men's senior team will be playing against Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka and New Zealand in the home International series", Ganguly wrote in letter.
Women's IPL to Early Next Year -
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is also working on the inaugural edition of Women's IPL. According to reports, the BCCI is planning to start the women's IPL early next year.
"The BCCI is currently working on the much awaited women's IPL. We are expecting to start the first season early next year. Ganguly wrote in the letter to state units"
Inaugural Edition of Women's U -15 Event -
According to reports, the inaugural edition of women's U- 15 event will be played from December 26 to January 12 across Bengaluru, Ranchi, Rajkot, Indore, Raipur and Pune.
"We are glad to introduce a girls U- 15 One day tournament this season. Women's cricket has seen phenomenal growth across the world and our national team has been performing well. The new tournament will create a pathway for our young girls to play at national and international level" Ganguly wrote.
